“But solid food is for the mature, those who, because of practice have their senses trained for the discernment of both good and evil” (Hebrews 5:14).
Although by no law is man justified, men busy themselves with making laws for other men by which some certification of righteousness can be attributed. This has always been the case. In these latter days, a new law has been devised by Christians – “thou shalt be tolerant”. This doctrine is based upon the false notion that grace, as meant by God, is in fact tolerance by another name. But what this new “law” is saying is that “blessed are they that tolerate everything because they shall not be held accountable for anything”. This, of course, is a lie.
Throughout the whole world, truth and error travel the same highway, eat in the same cafes, work in the same shops, offices and factories, attend the same Churches and, most importantly, use the same book. In fact, so skilled is error at imitating truth that the two are constantly being mistaken for each other; it takes a spiritual maturity achieved by the exercise of spiritual senses, to discern between what is of God and what is of men. Unfortunately, most Christians today are not willing to invest in the spiritual exercise necessary and, instead, rely on what they are told!
Into this vacuum a new spirit has entered into the Christian community; it is the spirit of religious elitism. It puffs up those who claim to have a call of God that is greater than, and superior to, their fellows. These people undertake all sorts of religious studies under men so that they assume to have greater theological knowledge than others.
But they overlook the fact that truth is more than just intellectual – it is also moral. A theological fact becomes a spiritual truth only when it is received into a humble mind; the proud mind can never know spiritual truth! This is how the kingdom works.
