You can’t separate the message from the messenger; they are indivisible. You cannot preach brokenness unless you are broken; you cannot preach the death of self unless the self is dead; you cannot preach resurrection life unless you have resurrection life; you cannot preach emptiness unless you are empty.
The message cannot be separated from the messenger nor can the messenger be separated from the message; the message must be lived. That is what the life of Christ shows; He was the living message. This is the wisdom of God in the protection of His truth; it must first be seen in the life of the messenger before it can be spoken.
Today, those who set themselves up as God’s messengers preach a message from a book; the message they preach can only be heard, not seen in the lives of the messengers; but it is not the message from God, nor does it lead to eternal life; it leads to religious deception and bondage.
