“My sheep hear My voice……and they follow Me” (John 10:27).
Christianity is a dangerous dwelling place into which Christians flee to escape the wrath of God; but to no avail. There is no release from the burden of sin in Christianity if there is no true repentance and if there is no true repentance, it is because there is a reluctance to give up those things that, within the deepest recesses of the heart, the believer knows are an offence against God. These are sins of fleshly self indulgence.
The tragedy is that Christians have been deceived into believing that, by becoming Christians, they are saved; but there is no salvation in Christianity; salvation is in Christ Jesus only; and Christianity is a dangerous alternative to dwelling in Christ; modern western Christianity is “a different gospel”; that is, another Jesus brought under a different spirit; that spirit allows Christians to go on ignoring God, making loud noises when they assemble together, rather like whistling in the dark.
Faith must be built on two things; hearing what God is saying and being faithful to what He has said. To do the first we must be constantly seeking in His word and in prayer and meditation; to do the latter is essential. Christianity today hears what it wants, so that it can do what it wants. But we have to empty ourselves of all personal ambitions and desires and resolve, in our hearts, to seek only His wish.
