“The one overcoming, I will grant to him to sit down with Me in My throne, just as I also overcame and sat down with My Father in His throne” (Revelation 3:21).
What is it that we have to overcome; it is not Satan; he was overcome at the Cross and the writing has been on the wall for him ever since. But we are alive and it is the self-will that must be overcome if we are to sit down in the throne with Christ Jesus; the self is where Satan still lives in believers and that is where his power and authority must be overcome.
The kind of Christianity that we see about us, relying on the influence of its own human and earthly power, is a travesty of what the Church of Christ was meant to be; it must make Him sick to look upon such a manifestation of His sacrifice to see a Church that describes itself as His Body and yet has no power and is obsessed with the things of this world; nursing homes, schools, social clubs and knitting societies have nothing to do with the work of the True Church of God; they are all distractions.
If it is to recapture its mission, the Church must dispense with all its worldliness and get back to the grass roots of the apostolic age. That means recovering the Word and seeking the anointing of the Spirit to understand what the Divine Voice is speaking from heaven.
“The one having an ear, let him hear (imperative) what the Spirit is saying to the assemblies” (Revelation 3:22).
